Reasons Why African Americans Should Vote for Senator Barbara Boxer

1. According to September/October 1998 Crisis, Senator Boxer has a 100% voting record on NAACP issues.
2. Senator Boxer voted to confirm Alexis Herman as the Secretary of Labor and David Satcher as U.S. Surgeon General and Assistant Secretary for Health.
3. Senator Barbara Boxer along with another member of Congress recently introduced the Sherrice Iverson Act which was named after the African American seven year old girl who was raped and murdered by a white assailant in Las Vegas. The murderer's best friend David Cash Jr. partially witnessed the crime and failed to report the crime to the police. David Cash Jr. was never prosecuted, because Nevada did not have a Good Samaritan law on its books. The Sherrice Iverson Act would require states to pass laws requiring witnesses of child sexual abuse to report that crime to the police.
4. Senator Barbara Boxer is a hardcore supporter of affirmative action whereas her opponent Matt Fong does not support affirmative action.
