Civil Rights Leader and African-American City Councilman to speak at MLK activities
in Oklahoma City

San Antonio, Texas City Councilman Mario Marcel Salas will be the keynote speaker at the MLK activities in Oklahoma City this week.

Mr. Salas was instrumental in securing the Texas State Holiday for MLK and has been active in the Civil Rights Movement for over 30 years as a member of the NAACP and SNCC during the 60's. Mr. Salas will be speaking on Sunday, January 14th and at the March on Monday. (Contact local organizers for time and place.)

Mario Marcel Salas will also be holding a book signing to announce the release of his book, Frankenstein: The Dawning and the Passing.

Mr. Salas is one of the few African-Americans that write horror and science-fiction. He will be discussing the literary aspects of his book: What led him to write the novel, the first sequel ever written that is true to the original, and the cross genre nature of his novel. Mr. Salas will also give a brief reading from his novel.
