Host Jeff Majors visits with special guest Michelle Williams of Destiny's ChildSilver Spring, MD (BlackNews.com) - Top contemporary artists join with some of the biggest names in gospel music in the second season of The Gospel of Music with Jeff Majors, TV One's exciting weekly gospel series, premiering Sunday, Feb. 13 at noon and 7 PM (all times ET). Host Jeff Majors, the talented harpist, producer and radio personality, showcases an eclectic mix of performers representing the full spectrum of gospel music, from traditional to contemporary, including such genres as reggae gospel, hip hop gospel and gospel jazz. And, of course, Majors himself, will stir the soul with music from his harp each week.

Some of the guests during season two will include Destiny's Child's Michelle Williams, exploring her gospel roots; NAACP Image Award winner and American Idol champion Ruben Studdard; music legend Dionne Warwick; top R&B artist Howard Hewett; gospel legends Andrae Crouch, Walter Hawkins, Tramaine Hawkins, Helen Baylor and Mighty Clouds of Joy; contemporary gospel diva Kim Burrell; Stellar Award winners Tonex and Ted & Sheri; hip-hop masters Gospel Gangstaz and Little IROCC; and jazz saxophonist Ron Brown.

Two episodes will also feature interviews with Yolanda King, eldest daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Attallah Shabazz, eldest daughter of Malcolm X, discussing the impact of gospel music in the United States and abroad. In addition, weekly episodes will feature profiles of gospel pioneers such as Clara Ward, Willie Banks and the Messengers, James Cleveland, The Pilgrim Jubilees, Soul Stirrers and The Staple Singers.

On February 13, TV One will premiere the first new episode of The Gospel of Music at noon and air back-to-back episodes from the new season from 7-9 PM in primetime. The episode that airs at noon and 7 PM will feature performances by Ruben Studdard; Grammy- and Dove- nominated artist Nicole Mullen; new artist Rhema; the legendary Spencer Taylor and The Highway QC's, and contemporary gospel great Walter Hawkins.

The episode that will premiere from 8-9 PM that night will feature Stellar Award winner Tonex, along with the amusing gospel of Baltimore's Damon Little; new artist Generation J and hip hop masters, Gospel Gangstaz. Also showcased are Eric Carrington as well as Denetria Champ, whose stylish vocals evoke comparisons to Aretha Franklin.

The spirit-filled episode premiering Sunday, Feb. 20 features rousing performances by Michelle Williams; L. Spencer & Testament; R & B veterans, DMZ; new artist, Lauren Evans; hip hop gospel sensation & Stellar Award winner Little IROCC; and Benita Washington.
